EPL: McTominay, Martial Return Man Utd To Third, Everton’s Woes Deepen

Manchester United strengthened their bid for a return to the Champions League next season with a 2-0 win against Everton at Old Trafford.

Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial scored the goals that deepened Everton’s fears of relegation.

Although United boss Erik Ten Hag’s side secured the three points, it came at a cost as Marcus Rashford hobbled off nine minutes from time due to a groin injury, which could be a significant blow in the Red Devils’ hunt for more silverware this season in the FA Cup and Europa League.

Everton’s bid to beat the drop suffered as they failed to take advantage of some wayward United finishing.

The Toffees remain outside the relegation zone only thanks to goal difference and could fall into the bottom three should other results go against them on Saturday.
