Paris Saint-Germain superstar, Lionel Messi has requested Barcelona to ensure that Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets remain at the club beyond the current season.

The Argentina international wants to play together with the two legends if he finally makes a sensational return to Catalonia.

Messi and both players won five LaLiga titles and one Champions League together before the former left Camp Nou in 2021.

Messi was the first among them to join Barca in 2000, five years before Busquets’ arrival at La Masia and Alba was the latest to arrive out of the three in 2012.

El Futbolero reports that the Argentina World Cup winner wants Barca to keep hold of both players, who are now club legends, which could prove to be a tricky proposition.

The Blaugrana want to let Alba leave this summer as Alejandro Balde has emerged to take over from him.

Alba’s contract expires at the end of next season, but his race seems to have been run at the Camp Nou.

Busquets, also 34, is pondering his future with Barcelona and could leave as a free agent this summer.
