“I am going to serve you and not to enrich myself. With your support, I will establish a cordial relationship with Governor Biodun Oyebanji for the betterment of our council by complementing his development programmes and policies,” the APC leader said when asking for prayers and support from the public to help him ascend to the exalted position.

“The local government has not been what it used to be in terms of its functionality and how it is being run for some time now,” he continued.

“But from the reports we heard, in the recent time, we have got to know that the monthly allocation to the local governments has increased considerably. That means it will enable the administrators at that level to have more resources to deploy and perform better than the people of the past, so with the repositioning process and funds now coming to the local councils being used judiciously, definitely, the system will be better for it.

“Now that the reorganization in the system and the improved allocation is happening, the onus is now on the council chairmen to do things judiciously and appropriately”.

With regard to working together with the traditional institutions, he remarked, “Traditionally, the councils are the domain of our renowned traditional rulers, and they should be treated with respect. As the head of the Ado Ekiti local government, I will work in tandem with the Ewi-in-council, who is the guardian of our tradition, to advance the traditional institution’s interests in the council for the region’s development. To guarantee that Ado Ekiti advances, Ewi-in-Council and I shall constantly cooperate.”
