Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State welcomes Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, on his visit to Lagos

In a statement, Governor Sanwo-Olu said that he had a productive discussion with the Army Chief on the Army’s dedication and professionalism in maintaining peace and security across Nigeria.

He commended the Nigerian Army for its commitment to upholding the constitution and safeguarding the nation’s peace, and appreciated the sacrifices and dedication of soldiers in various operations across the country.

During the meeting, Governor Sanwo-Olu requested the Army’s cooperation in key areas, such as the clearing of illegal shanties on Lagos-Badagry Expressway and supporting ongoing enforcement efforts, including the Okada ban.

He also assured the Army Chief of the state government’s support in rebuilding a military primary school in Orile demolished for the construction of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.

Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of collaboration among security agencies in maintaining safety in Lagos, and called for joint efforts to keep the city safe for everyone.
