In the Saturday Premier League London derby at Stamford Bridge, Arsenal mounted a late comeback to secure a point.

Goalkeeper mistakes at both ends prevented either of the two teams from winning their third straight league game, resulting in a 2-2 draw in the derby.

Three minutes after the half, Mykhailo Mudryk’s mishit shot from wide left Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya alone and nestled in the net as Chelsea appeared to be on the verge of recording their largest victory under manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Gunners were already trailing to Cole Palmer’s 15th-minute penalty after William Saliba was penalised for handball following a VAR review.

But with 13 minutes left, Arsenal — who were sloppy and struggled to create anything — were gifted a lifeline when Declan Rice sent Chelsea keeper Robert Sanchez’s poor clearance back past him into the net from 30 yards.

Then, with six minutes of the 90 remaining, substitute Leandro Trossard tucked in a wonderfully whipped cross from fit-again Bukayo Saka at the back post to draw Arsenal level and send the travelling supporters into delirium.

The result sees Arsenal move back to second position, level on points with leaders Manchester City who have a superior goal difference, while Chelsea climb up to 10th position in the early standings.
