Restoring the All Progressives Congress (APC) to its winning ways is a commitment made by the committee tasked with repositioning the party in Osun State.

At its first meeting, the committee—led by Timothy Owoeye, the chairman—also announced that the party would start raising awareness at all levels—unit, ward, LG, federal constituency, senatorial, state, and elsewhere—in an effort to turn around the party’s declining fortune and put it back on the right track for victory in the 2026 governorship race.

 

 

Last week, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Executive Council in the state appointed an 11-person committee to draft guidelines for the APC’s repositioning in Osun.

Owoeye, the immediate past speaker, in his remarks, said the committee is a follow-up to the efforts and recommendations of the Prof. Isaac Adewole-led repositioning committee which was inaugurated in January, 2023.

We express gratitude to our leaders, Baba Bisi Akande, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, the chairman of the Osun APC, other executives, and stakeholders of our great party in Osun for the confidence reposed in us to serve our party at this time.

We are carefully reviewing the guidelines committee’s terms of reference, and with our strong commitment, hard work, and dedication, I have no doubts whatsoever that our efforts will result in an APC in Osun State that is more organized, disciplined, and focused on results.

In order to fortify the South-West as a base of support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, it is also imperative that the party remain cohesive. He said, “Being in the opposition right now means we have to work harder to spread the word about the president’s accomplishments and the gospel.”
