After drawing goallessly with Ukraine, the Italian national team earned a point and will defend their European title in Germany the following year.

Both teams entered the match with a chance to qualify for the EURO 2024 Championship by placing second in Group C, which England had already won.

However, Italy made the most of the situation. Italy and Ukraine had same points total heading into this game, hence a draw would still allow the Azzurri to qualify.

While Ukraine must beat Italy at home in order to overtake the Italians. But after 90 minutes it finished 0-0 as Italy qualified ahead of Ukraine though having the same points but with a superior goal difference.

Italy’s Alessandro Buongiomo was booked in the 7th minute while Ukraine’s Yukhym Konoplya was booked in the minutes of the match.
