In Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League matchup against Real Madrid, Walter Mazzarri, the manager of Napoli, has stated that he will decide whether to start Victor Osimhen from the bench or start him.

After missing the previous six games for the Serie A winners owing to a hamstring injury, Osimhen returned off the bench to lead Napoli to a 2-1 victory at Atalanta last weekend.

Mazzarri stated that he will decide on the Nigerian striker’s usage the night before the match.

“Let’s wait until tomorrow. I need to talk to everyone. He (Osimhen )certainly doesn’t have 90 minutes in his legs, we’ll see if he starts or comes off the bench,” Mazarri told a press conference.

“We will try to secure our place in the Round of 16 tomorrow, otherwise we cannot get the final game wrong.”

The 24-year-old has made two appearances for Napoli in the Champions League this season.

The Partenopei need a win to book their passage in the Round of 16.
