Chippa United’s goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabili is in doubt for Nigeria’s upcoming friendlies against Ghana and Mali due to an injury setback.

 

Nwabili was substituted in the 73rd minute during Chippa United’s recent 2-0 loss to defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns. The extent of his suspected knee injury will be assessed in the days ahead.

 

Despite being named in the Super Eagles’ 26-man squad for the friendlies, Nwabili’s participation remains uncertain.

 

The 27-year-old established himself as the Super Eagles’ first choice after an impressive performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

 

The Super Eagles will face Ghana at the Stade de Marrakech on March 22 and the friendly against Mali is scheduled to be held at the same stadium four days later.
