Mavin Records, a Nigerian music powerhouse, often referred to as one of the music label pioneers of the new age Afrobeats movement is 12 years old!

Founded by veteran musician and producer, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy on May 8, 2012, Mavin Records has exceeded all expectations and shattered numerous records.

The label was founded as a result of the end of Mo’ Hits Records, a record company owned by Don Jazzy and Nigerian singer, Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo popularly known as D’banj.

Over the years, the record label has been home to some of the best talents in Africa, including former signees Wande Coal, Tiwa Savage, Reekado Banks, Di’ja, Dr Sid, D’Prince, Korede Bello, and Iyanya.

Mavin Records has further solidified its position at the top with an academy that develops and nurtures up-and-coming talents, exposing them to opportunities in the future.

Afrobeats superstars such as Rema, Ayra Starr, Crayon, Johnny Drille, Magixx, Bayanni, Ladipoe, Boy Spyce, and Lifesize Teddy are currently signed to the label.

It’s rare that a record label releases a hit joint project with every signed artist simultaneously. Mavin Records, on the other hand, has successfully travelled that path on multiple occasions.

The label and its talents are credited for combined hits like ‘Dorobucci’, ‘Overdose’, ‘Won Da Mo’, ‘Adaobi’, ‘Janta Manta’, etc.
