In 2019, the world was taken by storm when a new kid on the block who called herself Tems sprung up from Nigeria with a hit single ‘Try Me’ and since then, it’s been from setting records to breaking them!

As Tems celebrates her 29th birthday yesterday, June 11, we appreciate the raw talent that the world has been blessed with.

When she quit her 9-5 job in 2018 to pursue her music career, we are sure a lot of people doubted her and thought she was being delusional.

She rose to fame when Wizkid trusted her with the chorus of his platinum single ‘Essence’ in 2020. This single would go ahead to earn the duo multiple Grammy nominations.

6 years later, she is the recipient of a Grammy Award, a Billboard Women in Music award, 4 NAACP Image Awards, 3 BET Awards, and many more.

With two hit EPs “For Broken Ears” and “If Orange Was a Place”, and her recently released debut album “Born In The Wild”, Tems is a stallion that no one can tame.

The superstar has worked with Drake and Future on their Billboard Hot 100 number 1 single ‘Wait For You’ which made her the first African artist to debut at number one and the second Nigerian to top the prestigious chart.

She has covered the legendary Bob Marley classic ‘No Woman No Cry’ for the Marvel blockbuster ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ soundtrack album in 2022.

Tems also has writing credits for ‘Lift Me Up’ which was performed by Rihanna for the Marvel blockbuster aforementioned.

29 years a queen, Tems is not stopping anytime soon and we love to see it!

Happy birthday, Temilade
